Softball Game Recap: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Hudson Cobras

Gulf lost against Hudson last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Buccaneers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Jeovanna Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Gulf's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Hudson, their record is now 4-8.

Looking ahead, Gulf will head out on the road to take on Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Hudson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
