Softball Recap: Mishawaka Marian's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Mishawaka Marian can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They never let the Michigan City Wolves get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the match before.

The result came thanks to Chloe Weber's shutout, as she gave up just a hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Halle Pedraza was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Katie Milligan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mishawaka Marian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Michigan City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Coming up, Mishawaka Marian will venture away from home to square off against Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.47 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Michigan City, they will welcome La Porte at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
