St. Luke's Episcopal and Foley are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought as St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats duke it out with Foley Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Luke's Episcopal is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
While St. Luke's Episcopal didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let Escambia County get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Monday. The Wildcats have beaten the Blue Devils the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Blue Devils has come to flipping the script.

Campbell Tillman and Conner Moseley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Tillman tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Moseley pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tillman has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Tillman scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Moseley scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Tillman a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, St. Luke's Episcopal let Russ Warner and Cooper Frampton run wild. Warner went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double, while Frampton scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Frampton a new career-high. Jeremy Menhennett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
St. Luke's Episcopal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Escambia County only posted an OBP of .308.
Meanwhile, Foley came up short against Bryant on Wednesday and fell 5-1. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Foley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Heiden, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. William Quarles was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Foley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, their record is now 6-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. St. Luke's Episcopal has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Foley struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Luke's Episcopal couldn't quite finish off Foley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can St. Luke's Episcopal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
