Softball Recap: Darlington Takes a Loss

After flying high against Southwestern on Thursday, Darlington came back down to earth. The Redbirds came up short against the Fennimore Golden Eagles on Monday, falling 19-1. The loss continues a trend for the Redbirds in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Darlington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raynie Norgard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another was Maicy Norgard, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Darlington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Fennimore, their record is now 13-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Darlington is set to challenge their familiar foe Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fennimore will take on rival Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
