Soccer Game Preview: Newton Falls vs. Liberty

The Newton Falls Tigers will head out to take on the Liberty Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Newton Falls will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Thursday, then bounced right back against Waterloo on Saturday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 7-3 margin over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for Newton Falls, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Liberty and Jefferson Area finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Monday.

Newton Falls' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three contests. Liberty's draw gives them a new season record of 6-6-3.

Everything went Newton Falls' way against Liberty in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Newton Falls made off with a 6-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
