Football Recap: Palm Harbor University Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Palm Harbor University was feeling good fresh off their 24-0 takedown of Countryside last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Palm Harbor University Hurricanes took a 7-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osceola Warriors on Wednesday. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bianca Menconi threw for 43 yards on six of 20 attempts.

Osceola found their leader in sophomore Daniella Buttacavoli, who rushed for 91 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 41 yards and one touchdown.

Palm Harbor University's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.4 points on average over those games. As for Osceola, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Palm Harbor University will challenge Gibbs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Gibbs 7.8, Palm Harbor University 3.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Osceola, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-0 loss against New Smyrna Beach on the 7th.
