Softball Game Preview: Sulligent Blue Devils vs. Lamar County Bulldogs

The Sulligent Blue Devils will take on the Lamar County Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hackleburg hit Sulligent with a eight-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-4. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maddie Lann was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Lamar County beat Lauderdale County 5-1 on Saturday.

Sulligent's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11-1. As for Lamar County, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 18-18.

Everything went Sulligent's way against Lamar County in their previous matchup last Saturday, as Sulligent made off with a 10-2 win. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
