Basketball Recap: Northshore Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Warren Easton last Saturday, Northshore came back down to earth. The Panthers lost to the Zachary Broncos on the road by a 65-49 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Broncos are ranked fourth).

Zachary's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Edmond led the charge by putting up 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Edmond a new career-high in shooting accuracy (80%). Another player making a difference was Deezy Collins, who posted 12 points.

Northshore now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Zachary, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Northshore will venture away from home to square off against McDonogh 35 at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Zachary, they and Huntington will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Broncos will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
