Volleyball Game Preview: Lakeview Charter Lions vs. Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lakeview Charter Lions challenge Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Monday, Lakeview Charter came up short against Fulton and fell 3-1. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 15-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Lake Balboa College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Canoga Park.

Lake Balboa College Prep was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Canoga Park work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-6, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Lake Balboa College Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jarrell Quinones had nine digs.

Lakeview Charter now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lake Balboa College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Lakeview Charter might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Lake Balboa College Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Lakeview Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
