Basketball Recap: Seven Lakes Spartans vs. Cypress Springs Panthers
Seven Lakes lost against Cypress Springs back in November of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Seven Lakes Spartans were beaten by the Cypress Springs Panthers 96-37. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 757th, while the Panthers are ranked 20th).
Cypress Springs was led to victory by Ayla Mcdowell and Jemini Mitchell. Mcdowell dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten boards, while Mitchell went 15 of 29 on her way to 40 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Mcdowell's afternoon made it 20 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamiah Harrison, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seven Lakes will face off against Mayde Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
