Basketball Recap: Dooly County Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Dooly County duked it out withCrisp County on Saturday. The Dooly County Bobcats were dealt a 54-24 defeat at the hands of the Crisp County Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jazlyn Hall, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Janasia Hamlin, who put up five points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Dooly County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups.

Dooly County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Crisp County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.

Dooly County and Crisp County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Dooly County (ranked 448th) will meet Wilcox County (ranked 162nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crisp County (ranked 433rd) will meet Sumter County (ranked 137th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
