Volleyball Game Preview: Malden Golden Tornados vs. Arlington Spy Ponders

The Malden Golden Tornados will venture away from home to face off against the Arlington Spy Ponders at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Malden will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Malden had just enough and edged out Lynn Classical 3-2.

Meanwhile, Arlington faced Lexington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Spy Ponders came up short against the Minutemen, falling 3-0. The Spy Ponders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Arlington ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Malden pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Malden beat Arlington 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Golden Tornados have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spy Ponders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
