Preview: Kansas Comets vs. Idabel Warriors
The Kansas Comets will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Idabel Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Kansas is ranked 51st, while Idabel is ranked 40th).
With a playoff game on the line, Kansas rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 28-24 victory over Pawhuska.
Meanwhile, Idabel put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over Henryetta.
Idabel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matrail Lopez out in front who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Lopez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Waylon Phillips also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Idabel's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Antwain Bagsby was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Kansas has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.7 points per game. As for Idabel, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
