Basketball Recap: Littlefork-Big Falls Comes Up Short

Littlefork-Big Falls lost against Kelliher/Northome back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings were beaten by the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs 95-39. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Mustangs are ranked 106th).

Leading Kelliher/Northome to victory were Kylee Binkley and Kate Thayer. Binkley dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals, while Thayer dropped a triple-double on 24 points, ten boards, and ten steals. The contest was Thayer's 20th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Lundin, who went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points and five steals.

Littlefork-Big Falls has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Kelliher/Northome, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Littlefork-Big Falls will host Deer River at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kelliher/Northome, they will face off against Lake of the Woods at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
