Softball Recap: Cary-Grove Takes a Loss

Cary-Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-1 to the Crystal Lake South Gators. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gators earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Cary-Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Longergan, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cary-Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Crystal Lake South, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-22.

Coming up, Cary-Grove will host Dundee-Crown at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Crystal Lake South, they will head out on the road to challenge Jacobs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
