Softball Game Preview: Owensboro Catholic Aces vs. Trinity Raiders

The Owensboro Catholic Aces will challenge the Trinity Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Owensboro Catholic has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Owensboro Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Central Hardin and fell 6-5.

Owensboro Catholic got a good showing from Lily Medley, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Medley has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Anna Beth Hamilton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Logsdon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Trinity had taken Butler County down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Raiders took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears.

Owensboro Catholic dropped their record down to 8-12-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 3.8 runs. As for Trinity, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-8.
