Softball Game Preview: Central Bears vs. Pasco Pirates

The Central Bears will head out to square off against the Pasco Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hernando on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 8-7. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Yianna Casiano was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Casiano wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Atkinson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Pasco came up short against Wiregrass Ranch on Tuesday and fell 7-4.

Central's record is now 2-11. As for Pasco, their record now sits at 3-9.

Central might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Pasco in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
