Baseball Recap: Thatcher Takes a Loss

Thatcher fell victim to Valley Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Thatcher's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Valley Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thatcher will face off against Tanque Verde at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley Christian, they will square off against Apache Junction at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Prospectors have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
