It was a good run, but Millbury unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 49-39 to the Leominster Blue Devils. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Woolies came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 65th).

Millbury's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3. As for Leominster, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Millbury will take on Prouty at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prouty is on a five-game streak of home wins, Millbury a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Leominster has already played their next matchup (against Fitchburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
