Basketball Recap: Skyline Coyotes vs. Dobson Mustangs
Skyline was the 65-56 winner over Dobson when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the Coyotes and the Mustangs didn't end well, with the Coyotes falling 56-42.
Despite the loss, Skyline saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Reyes posted 16 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Roy Nelson, who put up four points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Dobson was led to victory by Max Peru and Alex Rios. Peru went 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points, while Rios scored 11 points. Peru continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Angel Zuniga was another key player, putting up five points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
Skyline has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Dobson, their win bumped their record up to 9-16.
