Baseball Game Preview: University Trailblazers vs. Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders

The University Trailblazers will square off against the Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. University is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, University came up short against Lapel and fell 10-7. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Phillip Jacobs was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was his first of the season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter and Beech Grove had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Raiders took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets on Wednesday. Raiders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Hornets since on Wednesday.

University now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

University took their win against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 25-2 score. Will the Trailblazers repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
