Farwell hasn't had much luck against Stratford recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Steers will look to defend their home field against the Elks at 7:00 p.m.
Farwell is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since November 22, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 56-14 defeat at the hands of Gruver. The Steers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Although Farwell took the loss, they still got scores from Andrae Pullen and Joel Juarez.
Meanwhile, Stratford waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Longhorns 42-0. The result was nothing new for the Elks, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Farwell better keep an eye on Darius Jones. He was instrumental in Stratford's win, throwing for 149 yards and three TDs while completing 90% of his passes, and also catching one touchdown. Chase Lantelme was another key player, rushing for 92 yards and one score.

Stratford's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Farwell, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Farwell has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 194.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Stratford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 155.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Farwell suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Stratford in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lantelme, who threw for 162 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Now that the Steers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
