Basketball Recap: Presque Isle Takes Down Maranacook in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Presque Isle rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Maranacook Black Bears 62-36. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Black Bears are ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Presque Isle has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Maranacook, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Presque Isle will square off against Caribou at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Caribou will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Presque Isle surely won't give up without a fight. Maranacook does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
