Baseball Recap: NELA Christian Homeschool Takes a Loss

If NELA Christian Homeschool was feeling good fresh off their 12-4 takedown of Psalms Christian Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flame fell 5-1 to Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on Friday. The Flame were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

NELA Christian Homeschool saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ephraim Hankins, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

NELA Christian Homeschool's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. NELA Christian Homeschool is set to take on their familiar foe Acadiana Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will challenge rival Good Samaritan HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 3.7, Good Samaritan HomeSchool 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
