Basketball Recap: Winnebago Piles Up the Points Against Tri County Northeast

Winnebago won the last time they faced Tri County Northeast and things went their way on Saturday too. The Winnebago Indians simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack 66-39.

Tri County Northeast's loss came despite strong showings from Briley Anderson and Joslyn Mackling. Anderson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mackling posted 15 points. The game was Mackling's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bre Millard, who put up three points and 12 boards.

Winnebago's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Tri County Northeast, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Winnebago and Tri County Northeast could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. Winnebago will square off against Homer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday down 151 places (202 vs. 51). Meanwhile, Tri County Northeast (ranked 214th) will meet Omaha Nation (ranked 101st) at 4:00 p.m. on February 15th.
