Baseball Recap: Roland-Story Takes a Loss

Roland-Story lost against Saydel back in June of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Norsemen lost 9-3 to the Eagles. The Norsemen's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Tucker Hawkins was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Roland-Story saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cael Faber, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Hudson McLatchie also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Roland-Story's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Saydel, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roland-Story will face off against South Tama County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saydel, they will take on South Hamilton at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
