Softball Recap: Wharton Gets the Win

Wharton won against Strawberry Crest last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Wharton walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Robinson Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Willa Soorus tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Skylah Stephens was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Parker, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Wharton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robinson only posted a batting average of .241.

Wharton's record now sits at 4-6. As for Robinson, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Wharton has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 win against Freedom on the 25th. As for Robinson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-2 victory against Leto on the 25th.
