Football Recap: Loyola Academy Ramblers vs. Maine South Hawks
Loyola Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Maine South Hawks with a sharp 35-14 win on Saturday. Considering the Ramblers have won seven games by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Drew MacPherson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 181 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run.
Loyola Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

The victory was the ninth in a row for Loyola Academy, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.4 points per game. As for Maine South, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.
Loyola Academy is on the road again on Saturday to play Lincoln-Way East at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Lincoln-Way East: 9.2, Loyola Academy: 14.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Maine South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
