Basketball Recap: Kongiganak's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Kongiganak fought the good fight in their overtime match against Chief Paul Memorial on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Chief Paul Memorial Falcons 63-59. The Wolverines' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Kongiganak lost, don't look at Sam Lewis. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. The game was Lewis' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Beaver, who earned 12 points.

Kongiganak's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Chief Paul Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Kwigillingok the next time they take the court. Chief Paul Memorial will head out to face Kwigillingok at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, while Kongiganak will play them later in the day, at 10:50 p.m.
