Basketball Recap: Kyana Summers Key Part of a Team Effort in Generals Win

Pittsfield hadn't done well against Northampton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pittsfield Generals took down the Northampton Blue Devils 47-29. For the Generals, this counts as revenge for the 58-44 victory the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Pittsfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyana Summers led the charge by putting up ten points and six steals. Summers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. Dezerea Powell was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Pittsfield and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Pittsfield and Holyoke will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northampton, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge South Hadley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
