Basketball Recap: Tri-Cities Christian Beats Daniel Boone for Their Third Straight Victory

Tri-Cities Christian waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Daniel Boone Trailblazers by a score of 68-56. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-Cities Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lofton Looney, who went 17 of 35 on his way to 31 points. Looney's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashby Chadwick, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Tri-Cities Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Tri-Cities Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points per game. As for Daniel Boone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-Cities Christian will welcome Varsity Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Daniel Boone, they will face off against Science Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Science Hill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
