Lexington waltzed into their match on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They never let the Mansfield Senior Tygers get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Minutemen also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Makaree Chapman and Savannah Lutz were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Chapman didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Lutz pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chapman has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Chapman went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Lutz went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Chapman a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alexis Cantrell and Kylie Thornton did most of the damage at the plate: Cantrell went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Thornton went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Addy Williams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Lexington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.

Lexington's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Mansfield Senior, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Lexington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tygers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
