Baseball Game Preview: Scott County Cardinals vs. Lexington Catholic Knights

The Scott County Cardinals will head out to face off against the Lexington Catholic Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

While Cardinals fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They blew past North Laurel 12-3 last Saturday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Parker Dotson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dotson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Rose, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Duncan Stevens was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, while Lexington Catholic put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for West Jessamine. Lexington Catholic put the hurt on West Jessamine with a sharp 8-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Jack Sams tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Lexington Catholic got a big performance out of Brady Wasik, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Benni Lawrence, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
