Baseball Recap: Hidalgo's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hidalgo waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over the La Feria Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Brent Ian Szczuroski was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jose Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Hidalgo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Feria only posted an OBP of .333.

Hidalgo's record is now 7-5-1. As for La Feria, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Hidalgo will square off against Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Feria, they will venture away from home to square off against Port Isabel at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. La Feria is facing Port Isabel at the right time seeing as Port Isabel is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
