Baseball Recap: First Coast Christian Knights vs. Harvest Community Warriors
First Coast Christian's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Harvest Community Warriors by a score of 13-10. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-3 back in February.
Matthew Dees made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. In other batting news, John Chacon was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of First Coast Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-0-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). First Coast Christian now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Harvest Community, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
