Basketball Recap: Catasauqua Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Mahanoy Area

On Wednesday, the Catasauqua Rough Riders got the win against the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears by a conclusive 61-36. The win was all the more spectacular given the Rough Riders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 106th).

The victory made it two in a row for Catasauqua and bumps their season record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Mahanoy Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Catasauqua nor Mahanoy Area have any future games scheduled.
