Basketball Recap: Lakeville Comes Up Short

After soaring to 70 points the game before, Lakeville was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They had to suffer through a 73-27 loss at the hands of the Ovid-Elsie Marauders. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 604th, while the Marauders are ranked 118th).

Ovid-Elsie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tryce Tokar, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 22 points along with seven steals and five assists. Ovid-Elsie is undefeated when Tokar posts three or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise. Travis Milner was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and four steals.

Lakeville dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ovid-Elsie, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Lakeville has already played their next contest (against Hill-McCloy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ovid-Elsie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-35 victory against Morrice on the 15th.
