Flag Football Recap: Desert Mountain Falls Despite Big Games from Caroline Workman and Rhianna Ortiz Hernandez

Desert Mountain suffered their closest loss since November 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Horizon Huskies by a score of 16-14. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Desert Mountain's loss came despite strong showings from Rhianna Ortiz Hernandez and Caroline Workman. Ortiz Hernandez gained 69 total yards and two touchdowns, while Workman threw for 171 yards and one touchdown. Workman also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

The critical scores for Horizon came from Haidyn Duncan and Norah Curtiss.

Desert Mountain now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Horizon, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
