Football Game Preview: West Nassau Warriors vs. Yulee Hornets

West Nassau is 0-5 against Yulee since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The West Nassau Warriors will challenge the Yulee Hornets at 6:00 p.m. West Nassau will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Yulee's offense is going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: West Nassau hadn't allowed a single point the last three times they've hit the field. West Nassau never let First Coast get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

West Nassau didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mariah Coleman and Amelia Shute. Coleman also set a new season-high mark in defended passes with four.

Meanwhile, Yulee gave up the first points last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Orange Park by a score of 19-12. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Raiders are ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was Yulee's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points over those games. As for West Nassau, their record now sits at 5-0.

West Nassau suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Yulee in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can West Nassau avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
