Rome Free Academy waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-48 W against the Westhill Warriors. Given the Black Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Warriors are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rome Free Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amiyah Ferebee, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Ferebee a new career-high in blocks (seven). Isabella Cunningham was another key player, going 5-for-10 on her way to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Rome Free Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Westhill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Coming up, Rome Free Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rome Free Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Westhill, they will take on Cortland at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.
