Volleyball Recap: Thomas More Prep-Marian Takes a Loss

Thomas More Prep-Marian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Abilene Cowboys. If the Monarchs were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Cowboys when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Thomas More Prep-Marian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 25-20.

Bria Windholz paced Thomas More Prep-Marian's offense, picking up eight kills. Windholz really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 13. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Bridget Feldt, racking up two apiece.

Thomas More Prep-Marian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Coming up, Thomas More Prep-Marian will take on Plainville on Tuesday. As for Abilene, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Smoky Valley on the 4th.
