Volleyball Recap: Person Rockets vs. Croatan Cougars
With a playoff game on the line, Person rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Croatan Cougars 3-2.
Person wouldn't go down easily and took Croatan into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-23, 23-25, 24-26, 15-9.
Kaylie Parker paced Person's offense, picking up 16 kills. Parker got some help from
Kaiden Hawkins and her 44 assists.
Person's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-12. As for Croatan, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.
Person wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Carrboro on the 24th. Croatan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
