Baseball Game Preview: Lyford Bulldogs vs. Santa Rosa Warriors

Lyford has gone a perfect 10-0 against Santa Rosa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Lyford will take on Santa Rosa at 6:00 p.m. Lyford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Lyford's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Rio Hondo's usually-dominant pitching crew. Lyford put the hurt on Rio Hondo with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Lyford got a massive performance out of Diego Medina, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Medina a new career-high. Josiah Palmer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Santa Rosa came up short against Raymondville on Friday, falling 11-1.

Lyford's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Santa Rosa, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lyford took their victory against Santa Rosa in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0. Does Lyford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Rosa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
