Football Game Preview: Hinton Comets vs. Hooker Bulldogs

The Hinton Comets will take on the Hooker Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hinton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Hinton was beaten by Crescent 63-6.

Meanwhile, Hooker didn't have too much trouble with Sayre on Friday as they won 37-19. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Hooker's win came from a few key players Hinton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justin Palacios, who rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 68 receiving yards and one TD. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 58 yards. Keilan Robinson was another key player, throwing for 188 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes.

Hooker's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hinton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Hinton was dealt a bruising 48-0 defeat at the hands of Hooker in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Comets, Kleat Martens (who threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 10-for-10 passing, and also rushed for 31 yards) won't be suiting up this time.
