Recap: Forge Christian Fury vs. Middle Park Panthers
The Forge Christian Fury entered their tilt with the Middle Park Panthers with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Forge Christian claimed a resounding 75-32 victory over Middle Park on the road. Forge Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.
Owen Hovis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points. Austin Farris was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Middle Park lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Joey Gagnon. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with two steals and two blocks. That was a full 59.4% of Middle Park's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marqes Pasillas, who scored seven points.
Forge Christian's win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Middle Park, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Forge Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against The Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Forge Christian is ranked 20th). As for Middle Park, they will head out on the road to challenge Sheridan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
