Softball Recap: Orting Comes Up Short

Orting extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-10. They came up short against the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles, falling 10-0. The Cardinals were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Eagles' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Graham-Kapowsin, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Considering they have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Graham-Kapowsin's part, Brooklyn Pettit was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Pettit has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 3-for-3.

As of now, neither Orting nor Graham-Kapowsin have any future games scheduled.
