Baseball Game Preview: Apex Friendship Patriots vs. Green Hope Falcons

The Apex Friendship Patriots will take on the Green Hope Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Apex Friendship will be strutting in after a victory while Green Hope will be coming in after a defeat.

Apex Friendship will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Middle Creek, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Apex Friendship came out on top in a nail-biter against Middle Creek on Thursday, sneaking past 5-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Luke Hemric looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Apex Friendship's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor Sousa, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that Sousa scored this season.

Meanwhile, Green Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Laney, falling 12-1.

Apex Friendship's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Green Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Apex Friendship skirted past Green Hope 8-7 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will Apex Friendship repeat their success, or does Green Hope have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
