            Football Recap: Englewood Pirates vs. Strasburg Indians        
        
		
        
        
            
Friday just wasn't the day for Englewood's offense. They were dealt  a  49-0 defeat at the hands of the Strasburg Indians on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Indians are ranked 47th).
 Englewood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Ethan Brown and  Logan Mael.
 Strasburg's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Brody Hopwood, who rushed for 103 yards and one  TD on only six carries, and also threw for 224 yards and a pair of  touchdowns. Those  103  rushing yards gave  Hopwood a new career-high. Another back making a difference was  Cade Hemphill, who rushed for 103 yards and two  scores.
This is the second loss in a row for Englewood and  nudges their season record down to 4-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-0 Kent Denver (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 100% over those games). As for Strasburg, the  win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
 Englewood has already played their next contest,  a  42-14  loss against Elizabeth on the 24th. As for Strasburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  matchup,  a  33-7  victory against Kent Denver on the 25th.
