Basketball Game Preview: Screven County Gamecocks vs. Glenn Hills Spartans + Official Tickets

Screven County is 0-8 against Glenn Hills since January of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Gamecocks are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Spartans at 2:00 p.m.

Screven County is leaving town to face Glenn Hills after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The matchup between the Gamecocks and First Preparatory Christian Academy didn't end well, with the Gamecocks falling 80-64.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rodney Beckwith, who posted 25 points. Another player making a difference was LeVez Roper, who put up 17 points.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Glenn Hills on Friday. They came out on top against Augusta Christian by a score of 51-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Screven County better keep an eye on Makhi Tutt. He was instrumental in Glenn Hills' win, going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points along with five assists and five boards. Ja'Quail Johnson was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Screven County came up short against Glenn Hills when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 72-59. Can the Gamecocks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
