Softball Recap: River Valley Snags 15th Win in Last 18 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but River Valley had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Monument Valley Mustangs a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Dust Devils, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Reyes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Reyes was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, River Valley let Tamarie Williams and Morgan MacDonald run wild. Williams went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while MacDonald went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Jasmine Montano was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

River Valley has been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Monument Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

As of now, neither River Valley nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
